Elmo’s No Poser, But Stars Line Up For Pictures With Him
Who’s more famous - Jake Gyllenhaal or Elmo?
It’s not even close.
But Gyllenhaal is among the stars helping celebrate ‘Sesame Street‘’s 40th anniversary next month. Other celebrities scheduled to draw attention to the milestone include Ricky Gervais, Cameron Diaz, Adam Sandler, Hugh Jackman and Christina Applegate.
But the festivities aren’t confined to PBS.
On November 9, Grover, Prairie Dawn, Zoe and Cookie Monster will co-host ‘Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader.’
There are also new books and DVDs being released.
And Elmo will lead a parade of ‘Sesame Street’ pals in a celebration in a Smithsonian-sponsored discussion and sing-along at George Washington University on November 15.
Quick note: Although Elmo first appeared in 1972 as “Baby Monster” and then in 1985 as “Elmo,” he is stll three and a half years old.
