Earlier this week, Chelsea Handler celebrated the taping of the 100th episode of her cheeky E! talk show Chelsea Lately. (Watch Chelsea Lately clips at Fancast.) Fancast’s Ann Murray was on the set and spoke to the busy comic, who recently launched a stand-up tour and will have a new book, “Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea,” out in April.

What’s the best part of taping your show?
The good part has been our crew, our friends. Everyone on the show’s pretty stupid, so we have a lot of physical fights, running up and down the hallways like 8 year olds, that’s pretty much the best part of my day. And then, the show’s quick and fast so that’s a lot of fun to do.

What is a typical day like for you?
I stop at Starshmucks (Starbucks) to get my Cappuccino, because I figure the day I stop doing that is the day things get a little bit out of hand. So I want to make sure I get my coffee every morning. Then I come to work [arriving at 9:30] and then I look at all the stories, we figure out who we wanna make fun of that day, try and pick the best stories that are happening, any new gossip. And then we kind of go our separate ways and do all the different segments of the show, they get everything together on blue cards for me, we practice a cold open, I get my hair and makeup done, just a bunch of different, you know, administrative stuff.

Who is her favorite guest?
It would have to be today’s guest, Jenny McCarthy. She was the best. I really like her and I’ve worked with her in the past. She’s really fun and real, she’s like a good girl. That was the best. To have her for our 100th episode was perfect.

Who Is her least favorite guest?
Gene Simmons was my most uncomfortable guest, but it was funny so it was one of my favorites. Why? Because it was so creepy and disgusting. But it was really humorous. He’s definitely the creepiest that I’ve had on the show. Brett Michaels would come in second. I’m still obviously waiting for Flava Flav. He’ll take the cake.

Who’s her ideal guest?
Flava Flav would be my ideal guest. Him or Bobby Brown.

What’s the difference between her show and the other late night talk shows?

Ours is like a much more immature version. I feel like our show is like junior high and Letterman and Leno are like high school.
