Jessica Simpson can’t catch a break.

The singer is still feeling the sting of getting dumped by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, and now the embarrassment was broadcast on national TV.

Fox has apologized to Simpson for airing a skit during ‘Fox NFL Sunday’–sponsored by Burger King–that mocked Simpson’s weight.

In the animated segment featured during the pregame show, members of the Dallas Cowboys slam teammate Romo by taking jabs at his ex.

“Man, I still can’t believe Tony [Romo] dated Jessica Simpson, even after she blew up bigger than Flozell Adams!” said a cartoon version of Marion Barber.

“Unlike Tony, at least Jessica comes up big when it counts!” responded tight end Jason Witten.

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips added the kicker: “Say Tony, is Jessica around? We could use a defensive tackle!”

Fox issued a statement saying, “Burger King did not have any editorial input in the creation of the animation that ran last Sunday, and no one from Burger King Corp., approved it before it aired.

“Upon reflection, our poor attempt at humor was insensitive, and we deeply apologize to anyone who might have been offended.”
