Fox Celebrates ‘Simpsons’ With TV Scavenger Hunt
To celebrate the 20th year of ‘The Simpsons,’ Fox is launching a channelwide scavenger hunt for fans of the show.
The network will place trivia and references to the animated series on its other shows, like ‘House,’ and ‘Fringe,’ and it will be up to audiences to tune in, find the items, and enter for a chance to win ‘Simpsons’ prizes on Fox.com.
“Many times in TV, there’s a competitive nature between shows,” but ‘The Simpsons’ is on another level,” said Fox executive Joe Earley. “I would guess that many writers on many TV shows grew up watching ‘The Simpsons.’ ”
And many shows jumped at the chance to participate.
‘Fringe’ for instance, “decided to make references that wouldn’t be too obscure, though still fun to spot,” said executive producer Jeff Pinkner.
However, ‘Glee’ could not join in because all episodes have already been shot.
The scavenger hunt will commence today and goes on until January 10th with a special mockumentary about the show. So tune in and win!
