Hailey Glassman: “I Am Absolutely Not A Homewrecker”

Fighting back tears, Jon Gosselin’s girlfriend, Hailey Glassman, opened up to ‘The Insider’ Thursday about her sometimes tumultuous relationship with the separated father of eight. The two didn’t begin anything until this past summer. “We started to be close in May friendship-wise,” she explained. “We started to become sexual in July.”

Regarding her latest label as a home-wrecker, Hailey sobbed, “I always try to stay positive but it’s so hard, I get bullied by the world…I’ve been quiet for so long. I’ve been in hiding. I put my life on hold and everywhere I go people are whispering and pointing, ‘there’s the home-wrecker’. They call me the worst words. I get threats, I get mean letters… I’m unfairly treated in the tabloids. I’m mislabeled, I’m misjudged. It’s a constant struggle. I’m constantly being bullied by the world.”

But when she was point-blank asked if she thinks she is a home-wrecker Hailey responded of Jon’s marriage to Kate, “They weren’t together for a year. He was living in my house. Television and media take things and turn them around… He filmed and then it aired like six months after. Does it hurt me [to be called a home wrecker?] That’s a total under-statement… I never slept with a married man. In no way shape or form am I a home-wrecker and that’s the bottom line. I’m tired of it and I’m fed up. Everyone needs to get over it. Move on. They’re not together. They’re never going to get back [together] and that’s the end of it. Hopefully they can one day be friends for their children at least and be civil [to each other].”

The 22-year-old claimed that she loves Jon because “he’s funny” and “a good father”, but at times she dislikes him. “When I leave, I say ‘please, I’ll always be there for you.’ But I can’t do this anymore. I can’t take it. And he just comes to wherever I am and cries to me, ‘Please I need you, I need you through all this.’ I tell Jon all the time, if you really love me then let me go, please. Let me be 22, let me have my life.”

When she was picked up from the airport, Hailey opened up to producers and called Jon “Mentally abusive” and said she can’t handle being a “dishrag anymore”, but when probed further about it in the studio, she got defensive. “He has a lot of frustration on his plate. He has no one to talk to… Emotionally, he takes his anger and frustration out on me. I don’t think he means to but it’s just a pounding everyday.”

When asked if the abuse ever turned physical, Hailey got serious, “I’ve stated that in no way shape or form is Jon physically abusive. Never, never would he, and never do I want that brought up again, because that is a serious matter and that I would not stand for.”

So why is she still with Jon after all the hurt he’s caused? “The reason I stay with him is because at the end of the day you stay with the person you love,” she said.

During one of the commercial breaks, Jon who had been watching a distraught Hailey on the show released the following statement:
