HBO, ‘Battlestar Galactica,’ ‘Big Bang Theory’ Big Winners At TCA Awards

The Television Critics Association marked their 25th anniversary with their annual awards show that salutes the very best in television.

HBO led all networks with three trophies at the TCA Awards, winning for Outstanding New Program of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Movies, Mini-Series & Specials and Outstanding Achievement in News & Information.

The ceremony, which took place at The Langham Huntington Hotel & Spa, was introduced by Chelsea Handler, host of E!’s ‘Chelsea Lately.’

Syfy’s ‘Battlestar Galactica‘ was named Program of the Year, CBS’s sophomore series
The Big Bang Theory‘ won Outstanding Achievement in Comedy and its star Jim Parsons, received the Outstanding Individual Achievement in Comedy award. AMC ’s ‘Mad Men‘ scored a repeat win for Outstanding Achievement in Drama. Bryan Cranston of AMC’s ‘Breaking Bad‘ was honored for Individual Achievement in Drama.

NBC’s ‘ER‘ received the Heritage Award, which recognizes a long-standing program that has had a lasting cultural or social impact. The TCA 2009 Career Achievement award went to the legendary Betty White. The full list of winners:
