Heidi Montag “Attacked” By Al Roker?

Heidi Montag is claiming that morning show host Al Roker gave her an unfair verbal smackdown.

In their first interview since returning from Costa Rica, Heidi and Spencer Pratt sat down with Al this morning on the ‘Today’ show. A visibly annoyed Al asked the pair stern questions about their behavior on ‘I’m A Celebrity….Get Me Out Of Here.’

Speaking with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show this morning, Heidi said she was none too pleased with the line of questioning. “To be honest, I would never be interviewed by that man again,” she said. “I really would advise women especially to be careful around him, because I feel like he definitely came and attacked me, and I did not appreciate that at all,” adding that she “was crying afterwards because I couldn’t believe I felt personally attacked.”

Spencer was more cynical about the situation. “I’m still trying to figure out: Was the weatherman asking us questions? I thought we were getting interviewed by Matt Lauer or something,” he said. “Next thing you know, I’ve got the guy that tells me if it’s rainy or sunny trying to ask me questions. So we were thrown off that the weatherman was even trying to talk to Speidi.”

Their ‘Today’ show appearance is not for the faint of heart - or for fans of Speidi (watch the clip here). Beginning with a highlight reel recapping their week in the jungle, Al called them the “poster children for everything that wrong is celebrity in this country.” “Do you have any regrets?” he asked them. “None,” Spencer said, then attempted to explain his behavior with “on the show I want to be the villain, in life I want to be the hero.”

When Al bluntly asked them, “Are you proud of the way you behaved?” Heidi began to give an answer that seemed straight out of a press release, but Al stopped her and firmly repeated the question, “Are you proud of what you did?” This led a very flustered Heidi to utter, “Sure.”

Al then reminded Speidi that a statement from Spencer’s sister during their time in the jungle had suggested that they were tortured. Heidi denied it, but Al did not believe her. “Yes, you did say it,” he sternly said. “Your sister said that you were tortured.” Spencer’s response? “I don’t speak to my sister,” he said, and claimed that his sister twittered that quote based on what NBC said, and that she was “just repeating it to People.com.”

The host also gave them a chance to make amends by asking, “Is this behavior going to continue for you? You say villain some say jerk,” to which Spencer nonchalantly replied, “tomatoe, tomato…” When asked what was next for the two, Spencer answered for both, “We live in the moment.”
