From ‘Spiderman’ to ‘Milk’ James Franco has proven his chops as a versatile actor, but some new casting news puts the actor in some drastically different projects.

Franco will soon pop up on NBC’s popular comedy ‘30 Rock‘ playing himself in a guest spot.

While the story line remains under wraps the Ausiello Files reports that Franco will play opposite Jane Krakowski’s Jenna as if the two were having a fake romance.

This prime-time appearance follows news of Franco’s upcoming gig on ABC’s long-running soap ‘General Hospital‘ as a mysterious character arriving at Port Charles.
