Jessica Simpson On ‘Melrose Place’: “Who Writes This Crap?”

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz was let go from ‘Melrose Place,’ but big sis Jessica is coming to the rescue.

Jessica Simpson tweeted her feelings about the series, weeks after the announcement that her sister’s character, Violet Foster, would be nixed from the show. “CW catching up on MP.who writes this crap?” she wrote. “i have had bad scripts to work with,but this?thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press.”

Word on the street was that Ashlee was let go for lacking acting chops. “They hired her because they needed a good name to help create buzz,” said a source to Us Weekly. “But she was embarrassingly bad. Producers cut her down as much as possible.”

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Colin Egglesfield were let go from ‘Melrose Place,’ but producers specified it had been planned that way since the beginning of the show.
