Johnny Depp Surfs with ‘SpongeBob’

Lookout Captain Jack Sparrow! Johnny Depp may have found an even cooler Jack to play.

Depp will guest star on a special episode of ‘SpongeBob SquarePants‘ as part of the Nickelodeon series’ 10th anniversary celebration.

The Oscar-nominated actor lends his voice as Jack Kahuna Laguna, an “enigmatic surf guru” who teaches SpongeBob and the gang all the right moves to surf a legendary wave known as “The Big One.”

“We’re excited to have Johnny Depp guest star on the ‘SpongeBob’ TV special that kicks off the series 10th anniversary celebration,” says Nick animation president Brown Johnson. “This is a big year for our porous pal, and some of the biggest celebrities are helping us honor him in a special way throughout the year.”

Depp’s episode, called “SpongeBob vs. the Big One,” airs Friday, April 17, at 8 p.m.
