Kate Gosselin: “I’m Awake In The Middle Of The Night”

Brace yourself: Kate Gosselin is back tonight on TLC with more revelations about the breakup of her 10-year marriage to Jon Gosselin.

She’s also back with more tears.

“I’m awake in the middle of the night, thinking am I making the best decisions?” she tells interviewer Natalie Morales on the special, ‘Kate: Her Story.’

The special is part of TLC’s effort to wind down the ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8” series as viewers have known it. It’s also an acknowledgment the couple’s off-camera drama has eclipsed anything onscreen.

Tonight’s special puts Kate in the hot seat opposite Morales and asks the tough questions: How did it go from love to lawsuits? What about rumors of infidelities? What aren’t fans seeing?

“[I trust] a very, very small group of people,” she reveals, blaming friends for selling her out to tabloids.

She also talks about the toll the divorce is taking on the eight children.

“I remember thinking we aren’t going to recover from this,” she says.

Jon Gosselin, speaking at a New York synagogue Sunday night, apologized to his family for any pain he’s caused them, especially Kate.

“I want to apologize to Kate in private for having public relationships, because if she had done that to me, I would have been pissed,” he said. “Looking back on it, it seems like a knife in the back.”

On tonight’s special, Kate acknowledges being severely hurt.

“Things got really bad,” says Kate.

“How bad?” asks Morales.

“Really really bad,” says Kate.

“Were you and Jon even talking?” asks Morales.

“No,” says Kate.
