Kathy Griffin Opens Up

Kathy Griffin is a very funny woman.

But like many comedians before her, she’s had a rough life, one which included a brother who was a pedophile and drug abuser - and an ex-husband who robbed her. She documents these and other stories in her new book, ‘Official Book Club Selection.’

“I couldn’t really write the book about talking about him. It wasn’t easy,” she said to Meredith Vieria on the ‘Today’ show this morning. “But when you have someone like that in your family, for me it influenced kind of almost who I became. It certainly taught me that you have to laugh through everything. Especially the difficult times.”
