After a huge build-up (and initial disbelief), we finally got to see Katie Holmes do a little razzle dazzle on the dance stage for Thursday’s 100th episode of ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’

Turns out Holmes can dance (and slink and strut) and sing (even if lip-synced). (A glimpse of her hidden talents were displayed last season on ABC’s ill-fated ‘Eli Stone.’)

Mrs. Cruise performed the Judy Garland number ‘Get Happy’ to benefit the Dizzy Feet Foundation, a charity that gives dance lessons to underprivileged children. Garland’s son Joey Luft was in the audience to watch the tribute to his legendary mother.

Overall reviews of Holmes’ performance are positive, even if she did try a little too hard to be sexy, since it’s tough to sparkle on that stage with so many of the knock-out talents on the show this season.

Which is exactly why, despite gettin’ ‘Happy’ with Holmes, no one was very ‘happy’ by the time the elimination shocker hit: dance favorite Janette Manrara–’the shock of the season’ according to host Cat Deely–and Jason Glover got the boot.

The two-night season finale of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ airs Wednesday, Aug. 5th (9 p.m.) and Thursday, Aug. 6th (8 to 10 p.m.) live from the Kodak Theatre on Fox.
