‘NCIS’ Spinoff Is A Go

CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler confirmed at this morning’s winter TCA session that the ‘NCIS’ spinoff is a go. “It’s happening. We’re doing it.”

The spinoff will start as an episode of ‘NCIS,’ similar to how the Mark Harmon procedural started off as an episode of ‘JAG’.

‘NCIS’ is enjoying its highest ratings yet in its sixth season, unheard of for any series not named ‘American Idol’. The series will most likely only strengthen CBS’ strong procedural/crime lineup as the network battles it out with FOX for the number one spot in the Nielsen ratings.
