Saturday Night Live‘ regular and internet superstar, Andy Samberg will host a two-hour prime-time special airing May 17 at 9:00 PM that will feature the sketch comedy show’s short films.

While SNL is mostly known for it’s live comedy skits, the iconic show has produced more than its fair share of taped segments of or “Digital Shorts” as they’re known today.

Samberg who hit the big time with “Lazy Sunday,” is looking forward to featuring the classic shorts as well.

“It’s great to be able to show all these great ones from the past to a generation that is not familiar with them,” Samberg told the Associated Press. “For me to do hosting segments and be able to (introduce) `Synchronized Swimmers,’ this is not just something that influenced me heavily but influenced everybody in comedy.”

That short featured Martin Short and was directed by Christopher Guest.

There are many other classics that will be shown on the special, such as anything featuring the lovable, if unfortunate Mr. Bill, and, of course, Eddie Murphy’s, “White Like Me,” where the SNL alum impersonated a white man and saw first-hand what it was like on the “other side” of New York City.

“When I was a kid and saw that, my brain exploded,” Samberg told the AP. “It was like the greatest thing I’d ever seen in my life.”
