Showtime Comes Out With New Gay/Lesbian Show

Perhaps spurred on by the film Milk and the Proposition 8 controversy, Showtime has stated that it is developing a new show about gays and lesbians called ‘Way Out.’ The series will follow individuals as they come out to friends and family members during a group meeting.
If the premise sounds like the A&E series ‘Intervention’ (but more like a ‘gay intervention?’) thanks to its group setting, that’s because it is headed by Intervention’s executive producer, Bryn Freedman. “It’s a show that has universal appeal because everybody can relate to having part of their lives hidden,” says Freedman.
