Should you have $31,000 to spare you might be able to buy an hour of Simon Cowell’s time — at least that’s the going rate for the reality TV guru when it comes to charity auctions.

The chairman of Universal Music forked over the money (£19,000) to get Cowell’s “mind” for 60 minutes with the money going towards Children’s Hospices, reports the Telegraph.

What’s interesting about the buy is that Sony BMG, to which Cowell’s record label is attached, is a direct competitor of Universal Music, so in effect, Cowell will be helping his rival.

Other power players up for auction included rock band Arsenal’s manager, author Salman Rushdie and Mamma Mia! producer Judy Craymer — Cowell’s sale topped them all.
