The house of Gosselin has a new headache on their hands.

Jon & Kate Plus 8‘ is under investigation by The Pennsylvania Department of Labor over whether or not the show is complying with child labor laws, The Associated Press is reporting.

Labor Department spokesman Justin Fleming confirmed that a complaint was filed.

The smash hit reality show follows the harried–and as of late, scandalous–lives of Jon and Kate Gosselin as they raise their adorable flock of eight children: 8-year-old twins and 5-year-old sextuplets.

Gosselin family members have been speaking out on their concerns for the children’s well being.

Kate’s brother and sister-in-law appeared this week on CBS’ ‘Early Show’ and made some strong allegations.

“They’re being exploited!” Jodi Kreider told anchor Harry Smith.

The source of the complaint was not disclosed but Fleming said, “Any complaint we get, we investigate.”

TLC released a statement Friday:

“TLC fully complies with all applicable laws and regulations. ‘Jon and Kate Plus 8′ is no exception. For an extended period of time, we have been engaged in cooperative discussions and supplied all requested information to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor. We will continue to engage the appropriate officials and meet any standards or regulations that are applicable to TLC productions.”

Well, at least this takes the heat off all those negative reports about…Kate’s hair.
