The White House Apologizes To Elisabeth Hasselbeck

Here’s something you thought you’d never see – Elisabeth Hasselbeck complaining about the Republican Party. Though the party in question had nothing to do with politics, but rather the fact that The View co-host and her husband, Tim Hasselbeck, didn’t receive their annual invite to The White House Christmas party. And, none too pleased; she had a “bone to pick” on Tuesday’s show.
“Maybe I didn’t do enough for the Republican Party this year,” Hasselbeck jibed, considering the fact that she campaigned for the McCain/Palin ticket, appeared at events, and even introduced Governor Sarah Palin at rallies.
Alas, a celebrity always gets what he or she wants, especially when they have a top rated show to make a case on. After her rant, the lone conservative View host received a call from The White House itself, informing her that the non-invite was a glitch, and the Hasselbecks were always intended to come.
“The President’s office apologized and explained that she and her husband were indeed invited to the White House for Christmas and were sorry that it did not arrive.” Karl T. Nilsson, the executive publicity director of The View, told USmagazine.com. “It was simply an oversight,”
Before righting the snub however, Hasselbeck said “I love Christmas cards. I love getting them. There is one in particular that I usually like, and it’s an invitation to the White House Christmas party. Not the big one but the 20th one down the road that you get the leftovers at the party. I’d be going to that one. No invitation this year.”
