America’s Next Top Model to Include Transgendered Beauty

America’s Next Top Model has a trick up its sleeve for the new season: It will include a transgendered model named Isis who is 22 years old and a former receptionist. “My cards were dealt differently,” she said in an interview with Us Weekly. What exactly is a transgendered person? The online dictionary answers.com describes the word in the following manner:

Transgender (IPA: /trænz?d??nd?/, from trans (Latin) and gender (English)) is a general term applied to a variety of individuals, behaviors, and groups involving tendencies that diverge from the normative gender role (woman or man) commonly, but not always, assigned at birth, as well as the role traditionally held by society.
