Bob Barker: “Drew Is His Own Man”

Los Angeles Daily News TV writer Greg Hernandez, who writes an entertaining pop culture blog called Hollywood Joe, caught up with former Price Is Right host Bob Barker the other night at the annual Hollywood Santa Parade and asked the TV legend what he thought of new Price host Drew Carey. Kudos to Hernandez for thinking quickly enough to grab a newsy quip, and also bravo to the 83-year-old Barker for not ditching the question. “I think that Drew is his own man,” Barker told him. “He is not imitating me or anyone else. He’s doing the show the way Drew Carey thinks it should be done and that’s exactly what he should do.” Hernandez also asked what Barker, who hosted Price for 35 years and presided over Truth Or Consequences for 18 years prior to that, does in retirement.
