Chevy Chase and Burt Reynolds Spoof Spoofs

Are you tired of the never-ending stream of half-assed spoof movies with utterly generic titles that Scary Movie has spawned? They are always awful, they think making a reference to something counts as a joke and they tend to be completely devoid of cleverness. Well, you’re not alone, because there’s an indie comedy called Not Another Not Another Movie coming out, starring Chevy Chase and Michael Madsen as brothers in charge of a bad movie studio which makes the absurd decision to spoof the spoof movies. Vinnie Jones will also be on hand as one of Madsen’s cronies, and Burt Reynolds will be an actor playing the director of the film within a film.

There’s a chance this could be a brilliant skewering of the genre. The odds aren’t great, but if this stands any chance of being a nail in the coffin of this stream of waste-of-time movies, the risk is worth it. In the meantime, let’s watch classic films from these stars.
