Flash Gordon To Return To The Big Screen

The recent Sci-Fi Channel effort to duplicate their Battlestar Galactica success by reinventing Flash Gordon didn’t quite work, but that hasn’t stopped efforts to get a new big-screen adaptation going. Screenwriters Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless have been brought on to bang out a story for Breck Eisner to direct. Flash Gordon, of course, is the young athlete from Earth taken to a crazy far-off planet to do battle against Ming the Merciless. Dollars to donuts they get somebody like The Jonas Brothers to remake Queen’s classic theme song. Flash. Ah-aaah. King of the Impossible, indeed.
