Leona Lewis Crooning “Quantum of Solace”

It’s a tradition to have a popular songstress belt out a slinky number to serve as the theme song for James Bond movies. Sheena Easton, Madonna, Shirley Bassey, Nancy Sinatra, Carly Simon, Gladys Knight, Sheryl Crow, Tina Turner, Rita Coolidge and even Garbage have all provided their pipes to pump up the proceedings. Casino Royale went the male route with Chris Cornell, but perhaps MGM has realized that it’ll need some va-va-voom to sell an interestingly clunky title like Quantum of Solace this fall.
Apparently, Amy Winehouse was on tap for the job this time around, but they try to make her go to rehab. Beyonce will apparently do an Austin Powers movie, but wants too much money to sling out a tune for an actual Bond film. So now the eyes are on Leona Lewis, as managed by Simon Cowell, who may be in the running to git-r-done. Nothing’s finalized, so maybe there’s still a chance for Jennifer Hudson to do it.
