Mickey Rourke Becomes “Expendable”

Sylvester Stallone must really working some movie magic with his latest project, The Expendables, which he’s described as an Ocean’s 11 for ugly tough guys. He’s already landed Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren and UFC fighter Randy Couture, he’s got bigwig thespians Forest Whitaker and Sir Ben Kingsley interested in signing on, and now he’s added current Oscar-buzzer Mickey Rourke to the mix as a dirty arms dealer who supplies a band of mercenaries in their efforts to take down a South American dictator. This is shaping up to be a very interesting kind of slam-bang action movie. Rourke apparently feels he owes Stallone a favor after Sly gave him a gig in Get Carter a while back when Rourke was down and out, but he’s also currently filming 13, a remake of a French film that’s also co-starring Statham, so maybe they hit it off, too.

You remember Get Carter, don’t you? Where Stallone kicks the crap out of Dr. Cox from Scrubs, and then Rourke kicks the crap out of him?
