Murray, Aykroyd, Ramis and Hudson to Reunite for Ghostbusters Video Game

The big thing now is to make movies into video games - and not just the typical superhero-movie tie-ins. No, classic films like The Warriors and Scarface, and they do well. They’re big news.
So it’s perhaps less surprising, then, that Variety is reporting that the original crew of Ghostbusters will be providing voice talent and likeness rights for a video game adaptation - namely Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson and Bill Murray (who may not surprise you given his willingness to do the same for Garfield movies), as well as Annie Potts and William Atherton. Yes. Mr. Peck from the EPA. Aykroyd and Ramis will write the game’s story, set after Ghostbusters II, and Aykroyd says he may even do some motion-capture work.
“We noticed we did well on ‘Scarface’ and were alert for new opportunities to turn iconic film products into games in a way that is a new manifestation of the franchise,” Vivendi Games CEO Bruce Hack said. “‘Ghostbusters’ is unquestionably among the small number of movies in that class.”
Vivendi has sold more than 2.5 million units of last year’s “Scarface” game worldwide, grossing more than $125 million and making it a solid success, if not quite at the level of top franchises like “Halo.” Though Vivendi hasn’t yet confirmed plans, a sequel is known to be in the works.
Hack noted that, in making both deals, Vivendi did a survey of gamers asking which movie properties they would like to see turned into videogames. “Scarface” and “Ghostbusters” were both in the top five.
My main concern - where the hell is Rick Moranis?
