News: John Cusack Signs On To Roland Emmerich’s “2012″ For Some Reason

In depressing news, Roland Emmerich is being allowed to make another movie, when he still hasn’t atoned for his crime of ruining Godzilla.
For some reason, great actors John Cusack and Chiwetel Ejiofor have signed on for Emmerich’s latest disaster movie (does he make another kind?), 2012, which deals with the Mayan prediction of the end of humanity’s days. Apparently, the only idea in Emmerich’s head is killing millions of people in different ways.
John Cusack’s been in Con Air, so seeing him do giant dumb movies for the scratch shouldn’t be troubling - especially since the money there may go to fund projects of actual quality. Like his current project, War, Inc. Ejiofor’s just coming up, and it’s completely understandable that he’d take a high-profile job like this. But it still hurts the soul a little, mostly because Emmerich movies should not be high profile. They should be straight-to-DVD.
Watch the trailer for John Cusack’s War, Inc.
Watch Jeff Goldblum kill a bunch of aliens with a Macintosh virus in Independence Day.
Watch tornadoes destroy Los Angeles in The Day After Tomorrow.
Watch Chiwetel Ejiofor as a modern-day samurai in David Mamet’s Redbelt.
