News: Keira Knightley as “My Fair Lady?”

Keira Knightley may be the woman with enough pluck, gumption and moxie to try to take on Audrey Hepburn’s iconic role as Eliza Doolittle in a new version of My Fair Lady.
The plan is apparently to keep the 1912 setting, but flesh out the story and the characters with a bit more drama, and even use the actual London locations and more story chunks from Pygmalion, the source material for the musical. Essentially giving it modern production values along the lines of the more recent musicals like Sweeney Todd (although there’s no director noted as yet, so don’t worry about Tim Burton’s My Fair Corpse Lady).
Nothing’s official yet other than the fact that they’re making this movie. Stay tuned to see how it all turns out, guv’na. In the meantime, check out the Fancast list of Movies with Unforgettable Hats - My Fair Lady is right up there.
