News: Sex and the City Movie = No Boobs For You

Sarah Jessica Parker recently gave some insight on the upcoming Sex and the City movie, including hosing down the hopes that she’d finally join her castmates in baring all.

“Throughout my entire career I have feared that I might be fired because I was not good enough,” admits Parker. “You know what actors are like – most of us operate from a point of fear. I quite like being nervous. So for me, it was great to get to play a daring role like Carrie Bradshaw. But not daring in the sense of taking off my top – I’ve never done nudity in any of my films and it’s in my contract that I never will, no matter what my character gets up to.”

“You’ll notice as Carrie in Sex and the City I am always very well dressed in bed! I’ve made a career not stripping and I’m not going to start at this age,” she says defiantly. “I like this idea that you can be a lady and be slightly titillating and you don’t have to take your clothes off.

”

This seems a little like a backhand towards her co-stars who bared all for the show, which is likely part of the reason it got so much attention to begin with. Sure, when she started back in the late 80s, there was a lot of ridiculous nudity that objectified women with ridiculous intent and no artistic merit and there was a need to take a stand. But one of the few times I watched SATC on HBO (as I am in no way the target audience), I saw Kim Cattrall use nudity to great comic effect. It’s all in how it’s done.

So let’s start the rumor now - Sarah Jessica Parker must have a third nipple.
