Shane Black’s “Lethal Weapon 5″ Status Update

Shane Black wrote the first and best Lethal Weapon, as well as writing and directing the brilliant piece of action-comedy called Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, which everyone should see. He was said to be revisiting the franchise he started with Lethal Weapon 5, but the recent news that he was going to be directing Cold Warrior led some to wonder what the status of Riggs and Murtaugh truly is. Apparently, Black is still keen to direct the script he wrote for the sequel, and it’s all hinging on whether or not Mel Gibson approves of his new take on the series, which would introduce a younger pair of cops as well. They’ve yet to get that settled, so Black’s got something to do in the meantime.
