Venezuelan TV: This Explains Why Chavez Hates The U.S.

As we watched Venezuelans vote down their president Hugo Chavez attempt to reform their country’s constitution to let him sit in the top office for life and bad-mouth the U.S., we wondered what the regular people of Venezuela were watching on TV. It turns out that, except for tonight’s election results, they’re watching U.S. programs, including ER, Beverly Hills 90210, The Simpsons, Everwood, and North Shore. We don’t pretend to know anything about international politics, but we believe that while Chavez has been threatening to cut the U.S. off from its oil, the U.S. must have been retaliating at a grassroots level by threatening to cut them off from Brandon , Brenda, Kelly and Dylan. In other words, it boiled down to this: socialism versus The Simpsons. Faced with that choice, how would you vote?
