The reunion of the director and star of Fight Club couldn’t possibly be a further cry from that project. People have been raving about the trailer for David Fincher’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, due out this December and likely to be an Oscar contender.

Brad Pitt stars in the title role, a curious fluke of a man who was born elderly and proceeded to age in reverse, becoming healthier and younger as time passes by. One might be concerned that the trailer reveals too much, but it’s more likely that it just familiarizes with the film’s central premise, and it’s less about the physicality and more about the journey. With Cate Blanchett starring opposite him, it’s almost a foregone conclusion that this film is going to touch the lives of many, no matter how strange it might be.
