Dancing With Your DVR: What To Watch Tonight

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2008
Friday Night Lights (NBC, 9 pm) In tonight’s season finale, it’s all about the melodrama, as if the playoffs depended on the number of crises: we find out there’s a baby in the future for one couple, Jason gets some powerful news that may change his life forever, Smash is stressed about his future college football career, and Coach becomes insane with jealousy when Tami’s old (wealthy/attractive/successful) high school flame comes to town. If that’s not enough, in one last attempt to score with Lyla, Tim takes a gig at the radio station where she works with her new beau.
Free Radio: (VH1, 9:30 pm) “Moron in the Morning” is the aptly named fake radio show featured in this new improv comedy series about a dim-witted radio personality named Lance. On tonight’s season premiere Keifer Sutherland pops by only to go up against questions like “forget 24, when is the sequel to Flatliners coming out?” And Lance botches another interview with Luis Guzman when he comments: “rent Ghost and watch yourself in it.”
Lemur Kingdom: (Animal Planet, 8 pm) This brand new documentary series focuses on the lives and rituals of the Furies and the Graveyards, two neighboring gangs of ringtail lemurs living in the Berenty reserve in southeast Madagascar. In tonight’s episode, rival queens Juno and Electra lock into a head-to-head battle, and the Graveyards decide to challenge a group of brown lemurs for a newly unearthed feast, only to find themselves caught in a rainstorm wet, cold, and far away from home.
Gone Country: (CMT, 8 pm) This hick competition just got a little tougher, with the introduction of the “Hick Competition”, where the group learns to perfect the art of toilet-seat tossing and watermelon spitting. Only the reddest of necks will come out on top.
Psych: (USA, 10 pm) Shawn and Gus are too sexy for this case when they’re forced to strike a pose on the catwalk in order to investigate the death of a top fashion designer. Amanda Pays guests with her real life hubby Corbin Bernsen.
