I’m not actually a fan of musicals, but there’s just something about a well-executed musical comedy number or musical parody that I can’t resist. In fact, it’s hard for me to think of a comedy I like that doesn’t have a hilarious musical number in its history.

On How I Met Your Mother, we discover that Robin was a Canadian teen pop star who had a hit with “Let’s Go to the Mall”:
On Psych, Shawn and Gus have to do a Tears for Fears/Michael Jackson duet of “Shout” in order to solve a crime:
On the Simpsons, Troy McClure makes his comeback in the “Planet of the Apes” musical:
On It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Charlie turns his strange Day Man concept into a musical starring the whole gang:
SNL has so many classic song parodies, but I think “Lazy Sunday” has to be one of the best:
