Nick Wechsler
About Nick Wechsler
Handsome, brown-haired actor Nick Wechsler went from Albuquerque, New Mexico to "Roswell", racking up credits in television productions and independent film after making his move to Los Angeles following high school graduation. A capable performer who evinced an almost cocky self-assuredness he used to good effect in roles beginning with his cameo as a purse-snatcher in the NBC TV-movie "Danielle Steele's 'Full Circle'" (1996), Wechsler followed up a guest stint on the syndicated Western series "The Lazarus Man" with a 1997-1998 regular role in the action remake "Team Knight Rider" (syndicated). Here he portrayed gifted but unambitious technical genius Kevin 'Trek' Sanders, so nicknamed because if his unorthodox beginnings (he was conceived at a "Star Trek" fan convention). His next regular role on "Roswell" (The WB, 1999-2001; UPN, 2001- ) would see him similarly portray the unimpressed son of a space enthusiast, this time dealing with the seemingly overactive imagination of his alien-obsessed father Sheriff Valenti (William Sadler). Not only did young Kyle often lose his father's attentions to a small throng of human-looking otherworldly beings, his longtime girlfriend Liz (Shiri Appleby) falls for their heroic leader, her childhood friend Max (Jason Behr). Wechsler's rendering of the jaded teen was showed the actor's skill, perfectly walking the line between Kyle's fixated abhorrence of and interest in the alien faction and his overwhelming boredom and desire for a normal, extraterrestrial-free life. Wechsler's feature credits include the direct-to-video independent comedy "Chicks, Man" (2000).
