Brennan’s latest book is an immediate best-seller. Enjoying her success and newfound love with Agent Sullivan, Brennan prepares to promote her new novel. However, when she and Booth investigate a murder in the marina, they notice similarities between the case and a fictional murder in Brennan’s book. Brennan grows impatient when her team suggests that the murder was not a coincidence, but the work of a killer copying the murders in her novel. If this is true, the murder in the marina would be the first of three killings. Meanwhile, tension builds as both Agent Sullivan and Booth vow to protect Brennan. The leading suspect in the investigation of the murder in the marina turns out to be the same overly obsessive fan who once stalked Brennan. When a second murder is committed like one of Brennan’s fictional killings, she is overwhelmed by the possibility of playing a role in it. With a potential third murder around the corner, the team scrambles to identify the killer before the final chapter.
