For several years, Sam (Ted Danson) has taken an annual weekend trip to Vermont for a little skiing and a lot of girl-chasing with his old baseball buddies. This year, Sam wants to go again, but doesn't want to hurt Diane's feelings. Thus, he concocts a wild story about a relative's funeral to throw Diane (Shelley Long) off the track -- and suffers mightily for his prevarications.
