While Inara gets her companion physical, Simon thinks of a way he might be able to help River. In order to do so, they will have to break into an Alliance hospital to use the equipment. Simon gets the crew to play along when he tells them the money they could make by pilfering drugs from the hospital. Jayne sells them out and Jayne, Simon and River are captured. They escape just in time to avoid contact with the men with blue hands. Mal discerns that Jayne leaked the information and nearly lets him die in the airlock, but reconsiders.
