Phoebe's (Lisa Kudrow) plans for her elaborate birthday dinner hit a snag at the get-go when Monica (Courteney Cox) and Chandler (Matthew Perry), who have been forcibly separated in most of the previous episodes, have a major squabble over his newly revived smoking habit. Meanwhile, Ross (David Schwimmer) and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) accidentally place an impenetrable locked door between themselves and baby Emma.
