Now that Richard (Edward Herrmann) has been forcibly retired, he is constantly underfoot at home driving his wife Emily (Kelly Bishop) to distraction. Hoping to get Richard out of her hair for a while, Emily suggests that he pay a visit to Stars Hollow, home of his daughter, Lorelai (Lauren Graham), and granddaughter, Rory (Alexis Bledel). The visit goes along smoothly until the girls take Richard on a tour of town whereupon he makes a pest of himself by passing judgment on everyone and everything within his range of vision. As if this wasn't trouble enough for Lorelai, she must also seriously consider asking Rory's biological father Christopher to remain in town. ~ All Movie Guide
