With Isaac's horrible predictions unfolding before them, the everyday people with extraordinary abilities face moments of pain and peril in Kirby Plaza with unflinching heroism. As Niki tries to help the mortally wounded DL, she realizes she can't save themselves and Micah so Jessica relinquishes herself to Niki giving her the power to help them get away. Meanwhile Matt and Bennet change course when they realize Molly is the tracking system. They escape the building with Mohinder as Molly reveals Sylar is close at hand. After a fateful dream-like encounter with Simone's dad, Peter and Claire head back to Kirby Plaza as they know Peter is the only one who can stop Sylar. And Hiro, with newfound confidence, heads to the Plaza to take on Sylar too. As they arrive at the same point, Peter realizes he is the one who will explode because he can't control the powers. Matt shoots at Sylar but his bullets are reflected back into him, leaving his fate in doubt. Hiro delivers the final blow to Sylar but Sylar's last effort send Hiro flying, only to teleport away at the last second. Peter is near critical and Claire can't shoot him. But Nathan arrives at the last second, in a sudden change of heart, and flies them both away to explode in the sky, seemingly making the ultimate sacrifice. As the danger seems averted, Sylar apparently escapes, once again defying death. And Hiro finally lands, having transported himself hundreds of years in the past, in feudal Japan, in between an army and his ancient ancestor preparing for battle, setting the scene for next season.
