Matt investigates the Nakamura murder, bringing in Angela Petrelli for questioning. She falls victim to an unseen assailant but the police interrupt in time to save her. Noah vows to find a series of Mendez paintings that may reveal who is killing the older heroes. Claire's fascination in lizards' ability to regenerate their limbs intrigues West as he tries to bond over the writings of Chandra Suresh. Later, she tests her abilities to grow back a limb by cutting off her own toe. West witnesses it grow back from her window and flees in horror. As part of his new job, Dr. Suresh tracks down The Haitian to save him from the virus. The Haitian makes his way back to Noah after wiping Mohinder's memory. While crossing into Mexico, Maya and Alejandro prove to be a threat to those around them, as a trusted friend who leads them across the border, falls to Maya's abilities. Alejandro, on the other hand, appears to have the ability to reverse the affects. Meanwhile, disappointed by his hero Kensei, Hiro resolves to rectify any damage his presence in feudal Japan has done to history by taking up the mantle himself and saves Yaeko while fending off her attackers. They later return and kill Kensei but Kensei mysteriously revives from the attack. Peter is taken captive by the Irish gangsters who have clues to his identity. They offer to reveal the contents of a mysterious box that holds his secrets, but only if he does a job for them.
