Kate and Jack are on Penny's rescue boat, deciding that they should lie to protect those they left on the Island, and also pretend that Aaron is Kate's child. Three years later, Kate leaves Aaron with Sun so that she can visit the lawyer. Sun receives a package with photos of Ben and Jack, as well as a gun. Kate talks to Norton, the lawyer, and asks him if she can speak to his mystery client. He refuses and tells Kate she should prepare to lose Aaron. Jack tries to treat Sayid in the hospital but is pulled away by a doctor who knows that he had a substance abuse problem. Jack gets a call from Hurley, who is happy to be safely in jail. Meanwhile, a man dressed as a nurse tries to shoot Sayid with tranquilizer darts. Sayid kills him and then finds Kate's address in his pocket. Jack calls to warn Kate but she is following Norton to try and find out who his client might be. Ben and Sayid leave to get Hurley while Jack meets up with Kate. Jack and Kate follow Norton to a hotel where he is meeting Claire's mother, Carole Littleton. After Norton leaves, Jack goes to speak to Mrs. Littleton but she has no idea about Aaron. She is in town to sue Oceanic Airlines. Ben and Sayid arrive at the courthouse where Ben's lawyer, Norton, tells him that Hurley will be out of jail soon. Jack and Kate meet Ben and Sayid at the marina. Ben admits that he was the one who hired the lawyer to take Aaron from Kate. Meanwhile, Sun sits in a car with Aaron and her gun and secretly watches them speak. Back on the Island, Charlotte wakes up and they all decide to go to the Orchid station. On the way, they see a beacon of light shooting straight up. Locke recognizes it as the light from the Hatch on the day that Boone died. Sawyer hears a scream so he goes to investigate. He sees Kate helping Claire deliver her baby. Time jumps again. They head back to camp where the Zodiac is missing and all the food is gone. However, they do find two canoes containing some bottled water that appears to be from India. They get in a canoe and begin paddling toward the Orchid station when suddenly they are shot at by people in the other canoe. Time jumps again and they are safe from gunfire, but now stuck in an evening rainstorm. They decide to paddle to land. On the beach, they find fresh wreckage that appears to be from France. Miles and Juliet begin having nosebleeds. Faraday tells them it probably has to do with duration of time on the island. Meanwhile, a raft of six French men and one pregnant young French woman float to another part of the island. They see a body in the water so they grab it. It is Jin, and he is alive. They take Jin to land. The young French woman tells Jin that her name is Danielle Rousseau.
