Our Miss Brooks (1952-1956)

The original format of the series (1952-55) depicts the trials and tribulations of Connie Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High School in the little town of Madison, as she struggles to impress Philip Boynton, the biology instructor, and clashes continually with Osgood Conklin, the principal.

In the second format (1955-56), Connie relocates to California's San Fernando Valley when Madison High School is demolished to make way for a highway. There, she acquires a position as English teacher at Mrs. Nestor's Private Elementary School. Stories depict her romantic misadventures with two suitors: Gene Talbot, the gym instructor, and Clint Albright, the athletic director. She also continues to fued with Osgood Conklin, who has followed her to California and is now the principal at Mrs. Nestor's.
