Elaine (Marilu Henner) is convinced that an invitation to a fashionable art-society party is her ticket to success in the art world. But she is not so certain that burned-out hippie Jim "Iggy" Ignatowski (Christopher Lloyd) is the right person to escort her to the party. Alas, just as Elaine has feared, Jim's anti-social behavior threatens to mess up everything. But a hitherto untapped musical talent saves the day for everyone...sort of.
