Pete Cochrane, Julie Barnes and Linc Hayes, young adults arrested on minor charges, are recruited by Los Angeles Police Captain Adam Greer to form the Mod Squad, a special youth detail of undercover agents designed to infiltrate organizations that are impenetrable by police. Stories focus on the Mod Squad's investigations and Pete, Julie and Linc's attempts to work out their own identities.
